The Effect of Core Stability Exercises on Lower Limb Alignment, Upper and Lower Limb Function in Kyokushin Girls

چکیده مقاله:
Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of core stability exercises in the trunk area on lower limb alignment and lower and upper limb function in Kyokushin athletes. Methods: The statistical sample of the research consisted of 30 female kyokushin players aged 14-18 years, who were randomly divided into two control and experimental groups. The control group performed common Kyokushin exercises and the experimental group performed core stability exercises for 6 weeks. Analysis of covariance and correlated t tests were used to compare between groups and within groups. Results: The results of the correlated t-test showed a significant effect of training programs on changes in upper and lower limb function in both control and experimental groups (P≤0.05), however, in both control groups and experimentally significant difference between pre-test and post-test The test was not observed in the Q angle (P>0.05). The results of analysis of covariance test showed that after controlling the effect of pre-test, there was a significant difference in lateral jump (P≤0.05) between the control and experimental groups. However, there was no difference between the two groups in the changes of CKCUEST, square jump and Q angle (P>0.05). Conclusion: Considering the nature of Kyokushin and the research results, it is suggested that people who work in Kyokushin do not feel the need for core stability exercises separately.

Feedforward and Feedback Function of Selected Lower Limb Muscles Following Plyometric Exercises and Cryotherapy
Purpose: Despite the widespread use of cryotherapy in sports fields there is a lack of certain evidence of its impact of it on muscle activation especially following fatigue-induced exercise. This study aimed to assess the impact of cryotherapy alone and after plyometric exercises on knee muscle activation during the drop jump task. Method: 35 active female subjects (mean age of 22.74±2.10, m...

Background: The transverse abdominis (TrA) muscle is one of the most important muscles that contribute to the stability of the lumbar spine. Strengthening of trunk muscles that have a significant role in trunk stability is very important in the field of professional sport, sport medicine and rehabilitation of patient with low back pain (LBP). Identifying the exercises that can improve the stren...
متن کاملEffects of Upper Limb Exercises on Physical Capacity and Heart Function in Quadriplegics
Objectives: Wheelchairs are the prime mobility aid of persons with spinal cord injuries. Manual wheelchair propulsion puts a lot of demand on the cardiopulmonary as well as the skeletal system. The main purpose of the study was to compare the effects of both arm ergometry training and progressive resistance exercise training of upper limbs on resting heart rate and distance covered during wheel...

Meningomyelocele after cerebral palsy is the most common congenital defects of the nervous system that impairs the functioning of many body’s structures. This study aimed to assess the effect of six weeks selected physical training on balance, postural control and lower limb function in children with Meningomyelocele. In this quasi-experimental study, 10 boys aged 10-11 years with Meningomyeloc...
متن کاملLower Limb Function
Introduction The 2006 definition of cerebral palsy (CP) has been widely accepted and is recommended as the most useful operational definition of CP (Rosenbaum et al. 2007). This definition includes the term ‘secondary musculoskeletal problems’ as part of the spectrum of features seen in CP. This recognizes the impact of musculoskeletal pathologies on functioning for persons with CP. The focus o...
